Continental Properties, a nationwide developer, hired Oliver / Hatcher Construction to build a multiple new ground-up retail and multi-tenant retail facilities across Michigan.

The nationwide retailer, PetSmart, was constructed a new ground-up steel frame, EIFS and masonry exterior building which was completed in five months.

In Brighton, Michigan, a new 15,000 SF design/build multi-tenant retail facility was constructed for a national department store and four additional tenants. The design of the multi-tenant building exterior needed to be compatible with an existing Kohl’s retail store which was located on the same site. Kohl’s was fully operational during the construction process, therefore precautions had to be taken not to disrupt the flow of customers or traffic.

The tenant suites included 2,500 SF spaces for Red Room Crafts and Nevada Bob’s Golf Shop. The Nevada Bob’s included an interior driving range as well as a putting area within the store. The build-out was completed in only seven weeks to allow the tenant to be operational for the holiday season. Additional tenants included KSI Kitchen and Bath at 7,500 SF and Syncroniz Salon and Med Spa at 2,500 SF.

The 8,000 SF Adrian multi-tenant retail facility included various tenant improvements which included 1,600 SF build-out for Sally Beauty; 2,800 SF for Malibu Tan; 1,600 SF for Quizno’s Sub; and a 2,000 SF speculative suite.

In Frenchtown Township, Michigan, Oliver / Hatcher Construction provided construction management for the new 26,000 SF retail space for TJ Maxx. The interior build-out included spaces for fitting rooms, a cash security area, and an employee lounge. Steel frame construction with masonry exterior and an EIFS veneer was used for the shell. Additional elements included the buildout of the trash compactor and loading dock. This project had an ambitious schedule and was completed in only four months.
