Building a Better Community
Oliver / Hatcher isn’t just about building structures. We also build children’s futures. Oliver / Hatcher Charities was founded on the principle that our children are the foundation of our future and that we must be committed to enriching their lives in any way possible.
Since 1998, Oliver / Hatcher Charities has been the largest benefactor to the Child and Family Life Department at the University of C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital (http://www.med.umich.edu/ott/mott/index.html), one of the nation’s leading pediatric health care institutions. We also Support Mott’s Adopt-a-Family and perform monthly group volunteer visits to the hospital. It’s our way of providing a little cheer to the patients, yet we always get back more than we give.
Oliver / Hatcher recently hosted it’s 10th Annual Charity Golf Outing and raised an impressive $50,000 benefiting the Child Family Life Dept. bringing to the total monies earned to date to a staggering $663,000. We’ve been fortunate enough to have local celebrities act as guest speaker for the event. Some of our previous speakers have been Jim Brandstatter, Frank Beckmann, Gary Moeller and in 2008 we were honored to have none other than the legendary Mr. Ernie Harwell.
